Hello everyone,
CARHA Hockey is pleased to announce that in working with the City of Ottawa Recreation Department, a favorable recommendation regarding future ice allocations for existing adult rec and oldtimer hockey ice users will be put forth.
The City of Ottawa has recently completed their collection and analysis of public feedback and is currently finalizing their findings review for City Council. Through its collaboration with CARHA Hockey, the Rec Department has decided to move forward with recommending a clause that will provide existing ice users from the adult rec/oldtimer hockey segment that are in good financial standing with the City to be grandfathered from any changes made to the current Ice Allocations Policy. As a result, these groups should not experience any negative affect from the new proposed Ice Allocation Policy. It is anticipated that such recommendation will be put forward to City Council in mid-November 2009.
On behalf of CARHA Hockey and the adult recreational and oldtimer hockey groups across the City, we thank the City of Ottawa for their open process and support.
Please share this information with your teammates and should you have any questions, please let us know.
Kind regards,
Lori Lopez
Director, Business Operations
CARHA Hockey
