Message From Brian L. - Red Team Captain to the League Committee Members

Follow up message to League Committee Members:

OK< I'm looking at the responses from my players which I told you would happen and I have to support them. As this will probably be our last year for the league, and I base this on converstions at the Prescott tonight with players from the Sunday Afternoon League who play at Tom Brown on Sundays and work for the City. ie: Steve S.; Graig M. etc. They told me our Leagues will be gone next year as the City is giving all the prime times to minor hockey. This League has also been in operation for a long time.

So, my suggestion is to try and balance the Yellow Team with some good players who will show up, run the add as discussed for outside players and maybe a mix from within when we see what level of player apply and finish on a "HAPPY NOTE AND A PARTY March 31 to celebrate a Great League coming to an end.

Based on conversations at the year end party last year I know the White does not want this, the Black and Red do not want it so lets put the idea away and take another route. I'm open for suggestions but upon thinking further on our "draft" this format will not work as one team could end up with all forwards, no defence or vice versa. Not a whole lot of thought was put into this, the only way to go would have been a full draft.

So I'm looking at it from realty, this is the last year so let end with on a Happy Note and celebrate March 31 to our League.

I'm away for the next two weeks so I'll check my e-mails when I return. No final decision on how we will proceed will be made without my vote or approval by Committee Members.

Message From Tom T. - Gold Team Captain

Good Day Gentleman;

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer despite the weather. Saturday hockey will begin on September 5th and the cost will be about $375 per player for 28 games.
At a meeting of the Captains last night the subject of breaking up the teams and starting with new rosters was seriously discussed and I think there will be some form of lottery reorganization take place. Nothing firm has been set at this point. The purpose of this message is to gauge your interest in returning whether or not you are placed on another team.

Please let me know as soon as possible.

Regards,
Tom

Message From Larry M. - White Team Captain

Hi Guys, it's that time in the year when we all start to think about hockey.
The Prescott hockey committee meet on Tues. July 28th to go over the up-coming years fees and other material.
The first think I need to know is if you are coming back to play an other year in the league, need your answer by the middle of August so in the event you are not able to join us we can get a replacement before the year starts {hope you are all in for an other year}
The fee for this year is $375.00 , the fee includes the same insurance package we got last year,{Goalie's get a special rate, I just forget what it is at this time}

Start Date is Sept. 5-2009 ending March 27-2010 Total of 30 weeks
But , we do not play on the Sat Dec. 26 - 2009
Or Feb 13 - 2010 This brings or total games played down to 28

This year the committee has decided to have a lottery to re adjust the teams, this means that all the players returning will be rated A B C or D and their names will go into a hat, the team captains will pick from the hat until the teams are established. It becomes the luck of the draw if I am able to play with any of you this year, but we can still drink at the Prescott after the games.
I hope that you will all view this in a positive manner and that I get to see you on and of the ice
Yours
Larry M.

Allocation of Spares: Captains will be solely responsible for the on ice competitive balance once the teams have been created through the lottery.
