Suspension Reporting - CARHA

Why CARHA needs suspensions to be reported:

   It is important that CARHA Hockey is aware of all suspensions within their network in order to ensure that all participants are eligible to participate in CARHA Hockey games. The main reasons relate to continuity of information, restricting liability and finally as a support mechanism to the leagues.
   The large quantity of adult recreational hockey opportunities presents the possibility for an ineligible player in one league to choose a different league to participate.  It may occur that communication between the leagues does not occur and as such a league may unwittingly allow a player to register and participate while he is ineligible by CARHA Hockey.
   CARHA Hockey does not want to be exposed to any possible liability in the event that subsequent actions result from an ineligible player participating while he/she is deemed as suspended.  It is to restore a level of accountability for the respective league issuing the suspension. Suspensions imposed by leagues are made with the overall best interests of the league in mind and as such it provides for the National body to support and strengthen the decisions of its members.

With CARHA Hockey being aware of such disciplinary action, this will help us continue to keep the game safe!

PHL Start Up - September 7th, 2013

The season starts September 7th with Gold vs Red at 12:00 and White vs Black at 13:00.
Additional scheduled games to follow.

Please note that this year the cost will include the CARHA hockey insurance as in the past.
For details on the insurance please visit www.carhahockey.ca. This year the goalies will pay a nominal amount to reduce the skater league fees.

Exact figure for skaters is $425 and goaltenders is $100. Cheques made payable to "Prescott Hockey". A minimum of $225 must be paid in the first three weeks of the season although full payment is preferred. All moneys must be paid prior to the Christmas.

Xmas Party

The league's X-Mas pizza get together is on Dec. 22nd at the Prescott Hotel after the second game. The league will supply the pizza. The balance of the "pops" and food will be the responsibility of the individuals.

On another note the player fees and due this weekend, please make sure you are paid in full before you leave the rink this Saturday.

CARHA Hockey Insurance

To play in the Prescott Hockey League you must have CARHA Insurance.

 

All players in the Prescott Hockey League are Insured through CARHA and have been for years. The fee is included in the amount you pay to play at the beginning of the season but there have been questions about paying in other groups you play in.  

 

Your Insurance from the Saturday League covers you in any other groups you play with that have CARHA insurance coverage, so you don't have to pay twice. Please make arrangements with the organizer of your other groups that you don't pay again. Please also note that is not our practice to refund monies back to players who pay twice.

 

Should you already have CARHA Insurance or are considering obtaining it with another team please also let us know your complete mailing address and the league (and/or team) name so we can prompt CARHA to issue a refund through your other organization.

In summary:

• PHL buys the CARHA insurance for all participants
• if you play in another league or on a team that takes advantage of the insurance make sure you don't pay through them
• if you have paid multiple times, do coordinate a refund with the other team or at least provide the details so we can prompt CARHA for a refund
