Spare Money - Update - Seeking Remedy

This happened once again yesterday with spares participating but not paying their $$$. As a group we have to be vigilant and seek a solution. I will take all suggestions and we will vote on what to do with those individuals and the associated captains not complying.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately the spare money payment honour system has gone amiss and some participants are taking advantage of the absence of captains. Some players fail to recall that they have played and some say they will "pay next week" and don't.  No Longer !!

Effective immediately:
ALL SPARE MONEY MUST BE PAID BEFORE YOU PLAY !!!!!
- NO money - NO play - NO exceptions

Borrow from a teammate if need be and pay up before or during the warm up. The league no longer takes promissory notes.

Spares from outside the league = $18
Spares from inside the league = $7

Thank you for your understanding and prompt attention to this matter.

Chirstmas Get Together

Our Christmas Get Together will be December 9th.

We plan on meeting at the Prescott Hotel after our games and possibly the league will provide pizza for those in attendance.

Please let your captain know if you are going to attend so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you.

Hockey Day in Mongolia

Just want to let you know that your hockey donations finally arrived in Mongolia last week. Yesterday the Canadian Ambassador and I had the opportunity to deliver the gear during a Saturday morning practice of youth hockey teams in Ulaanbaatar. As you will see in the photos, the equipment was very well received (despite the -25 degree temperature). The hand over was covered by local media and even led the evening sports broadcast.

Obviously, this would not have been possible without your kindness and generosity. I want to say a big thank you to all of you for that. You efforts helped make a group of kids very happy as well as raise Canada's standing in the local community.

Best,

Steve

Players Owing Outstanding Balances

Please be advised that should you still have an outstanding balance owing the league it is due prior to 2 pm December 23,2017 . Please pay via Electronic Funds Transfer. Cheques or cash are also acceptable but less desirable.

Spares Needed - The weather is taking it's toll on hockey games.......

Many players have been opting to stay out of the rink due to the great weather.

Please don't be shy - show up early or stay later to play a second game. It will cost you only $7 payable to the captain.

Thanks ....... M

Red Bull Crashed Ice a Success

Despite the frigid temperatures, LaFlamme says viewing areas at Major's Hill Park, York Street and on Wellington Street were at capacity throughout the night. Red Bull would not discuss numbers, but Ottawa Police say that at any given time about 15,000 people packed into the area around the Ottawa Locks to watch the sporting event.
On Monday, Ottawa 2017 clarified that further to say nearly 50,000 people attended the finals on Saturday evening. All viewing areas hit capacity Saturday, including the locks with a capacity of roughly 20,000 people, the Wellington overflow area at 12,100, Major's Hill Park at 10,000 and the York Street Activation Site at 5,600.
"RCMP geospatial measuring pegs the crowd at 28,000 in one snapshot from Saturday evening (8pm) for the bowl and Wellington area. That does not‎ account for the very large flow-through crowd due to the cold, which would put overall attendance much higher, as attendance turned over approximately 2 times, a significant increase over the 28,000 number that was shared," wrote Denise LeBlanc with Ottawa 2017 in a media release issued Monday.
